■Profiles

Iida Shigeki: Born in Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, in 1958. After graduating from the piano department of Kunitachi College of Music, he studied gamelan music at the Indonesian National University of Arts in Bali as an Indonesian government student. He got a Master in Music Education from Tokyo Gakugei University. He is a Representative of JIBECA, Japan-Indonesia Bali Education and Culture Association. https://www.facebook.com/jibeca2016

Masuda Kumi: Born in Tokyo. While studying at Tokyo University of the Arts, he studied gamelan on Java Island. He also studied abroad at the Indonesia National University of Arts in Surakarta, as a 2014 Indonesian government scholarship student. He held a gamelan practice session called “sama-sama” in Nerima Ward. He is a member of JIBECA, Japan-Indonesia Bali Education and Culture Association.

Okuyama Noriko: Born in Mie prefecture. In 2010, she completed the Graduate School of Music and Arts at Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts. She studied Ryukyu performing arts, Japanese classics, and folk music. She received an Indonesian government scholarship from 2012 to 2014 and studied Javanese classical performing arts at the Indonesian National University of Arts.
